Hey there. Welcome to the beginning of BaseballSpreads.com , a little site of the side for the guys from Mop Up Duty.com. We’re going to be ironing out the wringles for the next couple of weeks, so please forgive any mistakes, weird formats, and lack of information. As I’m sure you can see by now, we have a little odds bar over on the right hand side of the page. We’ll pretty this up and add in more odds, where to place bets, and more in the coming weeks. Onto the first set of picks;

(Note: Each writer on this site will have their own style. For example, I myself lean towards betting the dogs and making money up off of odds. We’ll see if this theory pans out. Below is a slight sample, I’ll probably “pump” these up with more data in the future.)

Pittsburgh (-120) vs San Diego (-110)

Pretty much a pick-em, I have to lean towards Tom Gorzelanny. Gorz posted a 1.95 ERA in May and is really one of the most under-rated starters in the majors. The Padres are hot right now (8-2 in their last 10), thus the pick-em line. Regardless, I have faith in Gorzelanny to keep on trucking and the Pirates offense to keep on hitting (33 runs in the last 4 games).

Cleveland (+160) at Boston (-200)

You can get +175 on Cleveland at Bodog and other outlets. I’m a sucker for Sowers and he goes tonight vs Beckett. Jeremy finally had a decent start last time out (1 ER) and these odds are just too high to pass up for a strong club like the Indians.

Toronto (+140) vs NYY (-175)

The Jays have been playing around .500 ball of late and this is another odds play. The pitching match-up consists of Marcum vs Pettite. Pettite owns a 4.30 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in the Skydome/Rogers Centre.
